The ‘play-way’ method of learning is currently trending and one of the best methods to inculcate learning in a child. When learning is fun, children are motivated to explore further & their creative streak is nurtured. Colouring A is the first book in our 3-part series which includes 11 super creative & fun colouring activities for children in the age group of 3 to 5 years.The book is aligned to the Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) Principles. Before the main colouring activities begin, the book helps the child learn the very basic aspects of colouring starting from colouring big & small circles, drawing standing lines, sleeping lines, slanting lines and drawing colourful spiralswith a crayon or colour pencil. These activities are meant to develop finger control, colour recognition and hand-eye co-ordination in the child. Thereafter, all the 11 colouring activities are based on the basic aspects that are covered at the start of the book. A pictorial reference has been given next to each colouring activity for the child to recreate the same with use of crayons. The two colouring activities at the end of the book are based on “Mosaic Art” where the child has to recreate the pictorial reference with the help of colourful stickers. The stickers are provided at the end of the book. This is a fun activity and will help to improve finger control, hand eye co-ordination and fine motor skills. Teacher’s note has been provided to guide the teachers to make the learning more meaningful and effective for the children. The book focuses and emphasizes on making learning fun and helps reinforce concepts in a visual way.
